Equipment behavior

Orb rarity describes presentation and scarcity; it does not restrict the rarity of equipment that can receive the orb.

Rules worth knowing

Consumption
An ineligible selection, missing item, missing orb, or attempt away from the Forge consumes nothing.
Rarity upgrades
Changing rarity does not regenerate the item or increase its stat count.
Lowest-tier ties
Severance and Ascent choose the first saved affix among all stats tied at the lowest tier.
Tier boundaries
Ascent cannot exceed Tier 10. Flux never changes tiers. Plenty never exceeds a tier maximum.
Random outcomes
Flux is the only nondeterministic orb; it rolls every value independently after showing the allowed ranges.
